In all honesty, I almost skipped this trip It actually took me three visits to Japan before I finally made it here And that’s because I didn’t know about it! So you don’t miss out too, I’m now sharing it with YOU! 🐾 EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW 🐾 To get here, you’ll ride the adorable Setagaya Line “Cat Tram”, decorated with lucky cats. The ride takes about 15 minutes from Setagaya Station to Miyanosaka Station ✨ At the other end is Gotoku-ji Temple, the birthplace of Japan’s iconic waving cat (maneki-neko) • Entry is free • The grounds are covered in thousands of tiny cat statues 🐱 • You can buy your own to leave as an offering or keep as a souvenir • Make a wish and hang it on the wooden ema plaques 📍 How to get there: From Shinjuku Station, take the Odakyu Line to Gotokuji Station (about 11–16 mins, ¥170). From there it’s a short walk to Yamashita Station, then hop on the Setagaya Line Cat Tram to Miyanosaka Station (¥170, about 5 mins). The temple is a 4–5 minute walk from the stop ⏱️ Total journey from Shinjuku: around 30 minutes 💴 Total cost: ¥340 one way ($2.30 USD/$3.50 AUD) More Japan tips soon! #japan #traveljapan #explorejapan #tokyo #tokyodaytrip #besttokyodaytrip #gotokujitemple #bestjapantemple
